There are many truths to Mythology. Some are where they have come from, and others are what is in the story. Mythology is very interesting, and if you get it from a credible source, then most of the content of the story is true. For most myths, when the story states where to myth is from it is most of the time telling the truth. Such as the Legend of the Suns. The Legend of the suns was written by the Aztecs, and the myth states where the myth originated in the story. So because I found the Myth on the schools database I know that I have found a credible myth. Also, because it stated where the myth was from in the story, I know that it actually came from the Aztecs. Also you may have a hard time telling whether the content in the myth is true or not. Well, I know that it is true when I get it from a credible source. Such as an online database, or a book, or an encyclopedia. All these things can be classified as credible sources. You can tell that the sources a credible if you can fill out an entire citation on the source. Many myths are credible, and only small amounts are considered unreliable or are from a source that can not be trusted.

Lord of the Flies
In the Lord of the Flies, one truth that really stuck out was the truth about the beast being within. When Percival created the beast, he wanted the beast because it was it made life on the island really interesting. All of the older boys wanted the beast because it would raise them in social class. The boys didnt realize these things, and the only person who did was Simon, and Simon was killed. The beast was the one that killed Simon, because when he went to tell the boys, the beast within didnt want Simon to tell so it took over within the boys and killed him. The truth about the beast being within is very true, because when I am afraid of something I know doesnt exist , takes over my emotions. I do end up getting over the fear, but getting over my fear is easier now that i know the beast is within.

To Kill a Mockingbird
In To Kill a Mockingbird, a big truth that is still around to today is is racism. In the book during court, the jury was entirely white and they voted against tom Robinson. Tom did nothing wrong, and he told the truth during his cross examinations. Mayella on the other hand did not tell the truth, and the jury sided with her because she was white, and Tom was black. I personally have never experienced racism, but i have heard stories about it. From these stories i have learned that racism is true and to kill a mocking bird solidified this. Luckily now racism is not as big as it used to be, you can still find it around, and it is not only between blacks and whites, but all other races.

In Great Expectations, Dickens used expectations to to thicken the plot, and to have a reason for Pip to do things. Expectations today are used for the same reason. For me I am expected to get good grades, so i always try to meet those expectations of my parents. Expectations can be used for good, but they can also be used for something that you think is good, but it goes bad. Muslims are expected to fallow the Quran, and if they miss read the Quran, they become a terrorist. Also when your parents expect you to do something, it could cause you to be mean to one of your friends, or to do something else to some one. All of these expectations are true, and the truth about them is what makes them helpful, or unhelpful.

In Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie have the dream of getting there own chunk of land that they can live on and no one can force them off of. There dream becomes even more of a possibility when candy learns about the dream, and joins them. This dream is the reason that George and Lennie stay together, because without the dream george would have no reason to have Lennie to stay around him, and he would do what Crooks told Lennie he might do, and that is run away from him and never come back. Dreams today are the same way. Dreams give us a purpose to keep living, and trying hard to accomplish them. And when your dreams finally come true you feel really good that you accomplished it and worked hard to make it happen. The main truth about dreams is that anyone can have them if they believed. George needed Lennie because Lennie was the one that kept the dream alive and he was the one that believed it could happen. When George killed Lennie, he also killed the dream of having his own land, because Lennie was the dreamer and believer, and without him the dream would never come true.
